Versailles in the Time of the Sun King

Relive the grand days of the palace by visiting the grand salons and the king's apartments.

With its 63,154 square meters spread across nearly 2,300 rooms, the Palace of Versailles presents itself as a true labyrinth of beauty and finesse, a masterpiece of classical architecture.

Built between 1623 and 1682 on the site of his father's former hunting lodge, King Louis XIV permanently transferred his government here, making Versailles the capital of France until 1789. Transformed into a museum in 1837, the palace reveals itself to us like never before, thanks in part to its latest restoration campaign and the opening of the Gallery of Battles.

During the visit, your guide will focus mainly on the king's Grand Apartments, the Hercules Salon, the Hall of Mirrors, as well as the queen's apartments and bedroom. You will discover the great moments of the royal court and its treasures.

The visit can be complemented by exploring the French gardens designed by Le Nôtre, with the possibility of discovering the groves and musical gardens, and even the Grandes Eaux fountain shows during summer weekends, depending on the time of year.
